What if an alien spaceship actually landed in middle America and... did nothing?

Annie Collins ia a 16-year-old busybody who lives in Sorrow Falls, Massachusetts, where a mysterious spaceship landed three years ago. Since its arrival, the ship has just sat there, without opening its doors. Meanwhile, around the globe, people have been wondering who - or what - could be inside. But Ed Somerville, the government operative (posing as a journalist) who has been sent to investigate, is convinced that the more important question is not who or what is inside but why the spaceship landed in this very small, sparsely populated town.

Realizing that Annie has a sharp eye for everything going on in town, Somerville enlists her help. When some peculiar things start happening, Annie Collins might be the only one with the answers. In fact, she might be the most important person on the planet - she just doesn't know it.

Gene Doucette is the author of the best-selling The Spaceship Next Door, as well as the Immortal novel series and the sci-fi thriller Fixer. He is also an award-winning screenwriter and playwright.

Doucette writes winning characters who read like real people, and Sorrow Falls is similarly credible. The head-spinning ideas both power the narrative and invite the reader to think hard, while plenty of humor and action move the plot along. This excellent work will appeal to readers from middle school through adulthood.
