We use Rightsdesk because I believe that the publishing industry needs to simplify workflows to have more time to spend on working with authors, editing texts and innovation.
Rightsdesk is an online marketplace for translation rights, and a meeting point for agents, rights directors and acquisition editors in book publishing.
The idea is simple: vendors can display and list their available translation rights in a catalog where registered editors from around the world can find them and contact the sales person directly to request submission material. Rightsdesk has an integrated messaging system so that acquisition editors can subscribe to updates. The platform makes the connection. The transaction is up to its users.
There are no agency commissions involved. Vendors, i.e. agents and rights directors subscribe to one of two plans. Acquiring editors can use Rightsdesk for free or upgrade to use collaboration features.
